Thorn tree camp

ThornTree Camp is a traditional tented safari camp permanently situated in the Seronera Valley of Central Serengeti National Park. Surrounded by classic open plains and overlooking Banagi Hill, the camp provides an immersive wilderness setting with convenient access to some of the Serengeti's most productive wildlife areas.

Accommodation is provided in spacious classic safari tents designed for comfort while maintaining the atmosphere of an authentic under-canvas safari. The tents feature queen or twin beds protected by mosquito nets, screened sitting areas and shaded outdoor spaces where guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Each tent has a private en-suite bathroom equipped with a flushing toilet, washbasin and hot-water shower. Solar energy provides electricity and hot water throughout the camp, while charging facilities are conveniently available inside the tents. Family accommodation is also available, including interconnected sleeping arrangements suitable for parents travelling with children.

The main camp features a tented dining room where freshly prepared meals are served, alongside a comfortable lounge and bar. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the communal area. After dinner, guests can gather around the campfire, enjoy the stars and experience the sounds of the Serengeti after dark.

The camp's Seronera Valley location is particularly valuable for wildlife viewing. Permanent water sources support resident wildlife throughout the year, with the surrounding area well known for lions, leopards, elephants and numerous plains animals. The wider Central Serengeti also provides opportunities to encounter the Great Migration when the herds move through the region.

ThornTree Camp is open throughout the year and is conveniently located approximately 15 to 20 minutes from Seronera Airstrip. This makes it suitable for both fly-in safaris and overland itineraries connecting the Serengeti with Ngorongoro and other northern Tanzania destinations.
