Sangaiwe tented Lodge

Sangaiwe Tented Lodge is a charming safari retreat situated on a wooded hillside near the western side of Tarangire National Park. Spread across approximately 40 acres of natural landscape, the lodge enjoys beautiful views over Lake Burunge and towards the Great Rift Valley escarpment, creating a peaceful setting surrounded by indigenous trees and wildlife.

Accommodation is provided in elevated safari tents built on wooden platforms. Each tent features comfortable double or twin beds, a writing desk, luggage space, indoor and outdoor seating, and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and dressing area. Private decks provide impressive views across the surrounding landscape.

For families requiring additional space, the lodge also offers family tents and two-bedroom family cottages. The cottages include separate double and twin bedrooms with private bathrooms, connected by a shared sitting area, with each bedroom opening onto its own veranda.

The main lodge building includes the reception, restaurant, bar and lounge, together with a spacious outdoor viewing patio. Guests can relax beside the swimming pool while enjoying the surrounding scenery or spend quiet time taking in views across the landscape.

Sangaiwe places an emphasis on operating responsibly within its natural environment. Solar energy is used to heat water, while much of the landscaping incorporates indigenous plants to reduce water consumption and maintain the character of the surrounding hillside.

Its location less than a kilometre from Sangaiwe Gate makes the lodge particularly convenient for exploring Tarangire National Park. Guests can also enjoy birdwatching, guided nature walks and hiking around the lodge, providing opportunities to experience the area's natural surroundings beyond traditional game drives.
